BA (Hons) Architecture

The BA (Hons) Architecture course provides students with a strong foundation of the theoretical and practical nature of architecture. The course aims to ensure that our graduates are practice-ready individuals and become the future-changemakers within this dynamic profession.

This course combines a range of experimentation and testing, equipping students with the tools to investigate, think critically, and make reasoned decisions on designs. A key component of architecture is for designs to improve the places and spaces that we engage with, now and in the future, whilst at the same time, pushing the boundaries of knowledge related to research, technology, practice, and ideas.

Individuals will have the opportunity to test their ideas within a range of contexts, demonstrating a breadth of knowledge, skills, and communication techniques whilst problem-solving in collaborative and at times, interdisciplinary environments. Design is underpinned by an environmental and technological understanding, professional and ethical practice, health and life safety, and the histories and theories of architecture. The application of this knowledge is applied holistically across all modules to demonstrate the impact of our designs on the wider environment, both natural and man-made. This degree offers a pathway to architectural registration in the UK, and a positive step toward ensuring that our cities and buildings are safe, inclusive, and social places to inhabit.
