- BFC British Fashion Council Student Sustainable Fabric Initiative. 2025 Semi-Finalist: Henry Hoppe
This prestigious competition selects only a handful of national candidates each year to present at the Institute of Positive Fashion Forum International event based in London. Ravensbourne’s emphasis on sustainable fashion practice has resulted in students reaching the finals 3 years in a row.
- Louis Vuitton ADGI Accessories Design Graduates Initiative. 2025 Semi-Finalist: Layla Stone
An invite only initiative where Ravensbourne students are mentored in the adjacent discipline of accessory design to create capsule concepts to LV set briefs. Following on from the inaugural competition in 2024, candidates have been interviewed by LV HR team and reached the semi-finals 2 years in a row.
- The Golden Shears Awards Tailoring. 2025 Semi-Finalist: Layla Stone
Biannual tailoring competition traditionally dominated by tailors apprentices. It is an incredible achievement for Fashion Design students to meet the technical standards of the judging teams, especially when you consider the entrants updated a 2nd year project. Work was featured in a Catwalk show and awards ceremony at the historical Merchant Taylors Hall.
- Pierre Cardin Young Designers Award. 2025 Semi-finalists: Maisie Stone & Lottie Bacon
Global competition drawing upon the heritage of the iconic Cardin brand. From 100’s of international applicants, semi-finalists are invited to attend an all expenses paid 2 day workshop and networking event in Paris (May 2025). The final awards ceremony will be in Athens with the winners securing a by a paid internship at the Paris HQ (dates tbc).
- Ventile Outerwear Competition. 2025 Runner-Up: Eloise Winnand
Exclusive competition between fabric mill Ventile x Ravensbourne second and final year students focusing on weatherproof outerwear using natural materials and technical innovation.
