Adam Eastaway

Adam Eastaway is an aspiring product, furniture and jewellery designer from London. He always aims to bring an innovative, futuristic element to his design’s aesthetics or functions trying to create new designs or better existing solutions.

Eastaway is experienced in designing with metal work, wood, CAD, and foam models even contributing to displays of work shown at Goldsmiths. He is very passionate about achieving the best design possible always finding improvements to be made even in his final designs. This is helped by his incorporation of lots of client and problem focused research in each project aiming to be informed before he tackles a design challenge. He uses the results of this research to approach the design from as many different angles as possible trying to consider all the ways his products would be used by a customer.

Previously, Eastaway has worked with University of the Arts London and Around the Corner, helping to design a seating area for university buildings and taken part in workshops with The Creative Dimension in jewellery design to up-level his craft.

Camera Lounger
Camera LoungerThis CAD model of a lounger was designed from forms of a disposable camera. The viewfinder, lens and film roll all make appearances in this reclined chair with a surreal side.
Topological
Topological“Topological” is a collapsible helmet named after its concentric folding arms appearing similar to the concentric rings on a topological map. This prototype is built from foam and 3D printed mechanisms that allow the helmet to go from full size to just 7cm thick.
Baby Bear
Baby BearBaby Bear takes the clinical white plastic walkie talky baby monitors and redesigns it to be more at home in a nursery. With the end product to be made of semi-clear silicone to act as a night light this model is just to capture the form and cuteness of the final design.
Warriors of the World
Warriors of the WorldThis playing cards reflect on the western kings and queens depicted on a standard deck and aims to pay tribute to kingdoms and warriors from other corners of the globe. Spades: Japanese Samurai and Empire, Diamonds: European knights and royalty, Hearts: Malian empire and warriors, Clubs: The sultans and ghazi from modern day Türkiye.
