Adriel Wilkinson

Adriel Wilkinson combines illustration and 3D modelling to explore a range of themes, with their most recent project exploring video game cosmetic design, aiming to bridge kit, characterisation and aesthetics to create holistically immersive experiences for players.

“Undying” pitches a skin for Moira, Overwatch 2’s resident amoral mad scientist, transposing her traits onto an archetype well-suited to her give and take life-draining abilities; a vampire. This project provided an opportunity to explore the use of archetypes as a visual shorthand and tool for characterisation, as well as concept art, illustration and presentation techniques in greater detail, with the resultant design being accompanied by an origin story in the form of a short comic, exploring themes of timelessness, immortality and the limits of life extension.
