Annie Zhu
Annie Zhu is a London based fashion design student currently studying at Ravensbourne University London. Her practice is rooted in draping, where ideas emerge through direct interaction with fabric rather than pre-set plans. She is drawn to cutting methods that challenge convention, such as one-piece cutting and subtraction cutting, allowing form to evolve through process.
Originally from China, Zhu often works with a balance of structure and instinct, letting fabric respond and shift organically. Her inspiration comes from fleeting things — a movement, a feeling, a shape in shadow — rather than fixed themes. She has taken part in projects including Harris Tweed x Ravensbourne University London and the Pandora design competition, using each as a way to refine both concept and technique. Zhu is currently building a portfolio that reflects her growing interest in craftsmanship and individuality. Her long-term focus is on haute couture, where every piece is made to be singular — built slowly, with care, and shaped by a deeply personal process.
