Cynthia Vasquez

Cynthia Vasquez is a Spanish architecture student currently studying in London. Ever since she was young, she’s been passionate about the architecture of Spain — the vibrant colours, elegant forms, and how buildings bring light and energy to a city. This early inspiration led her to study abroad and develop a design approach that combines Mediterranean warmth with contemporary ideas. She’s particularly interested in how architecture influences our emotions and interacts with our surroundings.

Vasquez is honing skills in conceptual design and technical tools, and is all about creating spaces that are visually striking as well as meaningful and sustainable. Her aim is to contribute to architecture that deeply connects with culture, place, and people.

Ground Floor Plan
Ground Floor PlanThe ground floor plan is designed to encourage dynamic movement and social interaction through the integration of two dedicated lanes at the rear of the building — a bike lane and a skate lane. Both lanes originate and terminate at the same point, but follow distinct paths to create a varied and engaging experience.
Construction Section
Construction SectionThis section illustrates the internal functions and constructional build-up of the enclosing walls. The drawing provides insight into the height of the spaces and where natural daylight can enter the spaces.
Rendered Section
Rendered SectionThis isometric section explores the materiality and spatial functionality within each of the two buildings. By cutting through specific areas, the drawing reveals realistic interior views that demonstrate how each space operates — including the cafeteria/bar, the cycling repair workshop, and the gallery.
Rendered Elevation
Rendered ElevationThis elevation highlights the variation in stone materials used across the three buildings, reflecting the unique identity and function of each one. By using different types of stone, the design emphasises the distinct activities within each building while maintaining a cohesive architectural language.
