Hollis Nilsson

Hollis Nilsson is an aspiring film director and writer with a strong passion in editing. He has worked across a variety of mediums during his time at Ravensbourne University London, having directed brand videos, short films and most recently a documentary focusing on graffiti writing. Born and raised in London, Nilsson has always had an interest in exploring urban environments and the characters that make them up. In his documentary “Markings on Walls” he explored the artistic value behind the subculture of graffiti tagging, telling the story through an interview with London Graffiti writer, BOFA. Within his work, across fiction and nonfiction work, a common through line is his desire to tell real stories with an elevated stylistic look. Blending real emotions and thoughts with engaging visuals to bring a more fulfilling experience for the viewer.

Specialising in writing and directing, Nilsson also works in editing, being proficient in Davinci resolve as well as premiere pro. Additionally, he also a keen interest in the lighting department, having worked as a gaffer and spark across multiple projects. After graduating Ravensbourne University London, Nilsson is pursuing future professional opportunities in an effort to strengthen his skills and develop his knowledge on the film industry.
