Jon Mitchell

Jon Mitchell is a passionate and socially conscious designer with a focus on sustainable architecture, community engagement and adaptive reuse. His work spans a range of project types, from public spaces and exhibitions to residential interiors with each reflecting a deep interest in how design can serve both people and the environment. Mitchell’s portfolio includes projects like the Canvey Community Centre which acts as flood defence for a vulnerable coastline and the Migration Museum, which reimagines a Grade II listed building that balances commercial function and celebrating cultural identity with circulation and materiality.

Mitchell is especially drawn to designing inclusive accessible spaces that enhance everyday life and promote social benefit. He takes a narrative-based approach to design, often using physical models, digital renders and site-specific strategies to bring concepts to life. With a strong foundation in spatial planning, environmental performance and materiality, he continues to explore how design can positively impact communities and adapt to future challenges.
