Lademi Seriki

Films have always been apart of Lademi Seriki's life. As a child, she had trouble expressing herself which led her to transforming the anxiety that she harnessed, manifesting and challenging it into something that could be used to inform, make a change, and as an outlet. They ignited her passion to create further
and changed her way of thinking forever.

Seriki has spent the last three years passionately honing her skills to pursue her dream of becoming a cinematographer by learning camera, lighting, sound as well as editing. Through a range of projects, her adeptness and experience are ever-growing and she is constantly trying to find more opportunities to boost her to an even higher level.

The Art of MeIn this project, Seriki explores how girls are forced to conform to certain beauty standards set on them by social media and other external participants. She portrays this through colour and lighting.

Another still from Seriki's film. At this point we can see a drastic change in lighting, this is signifying her stress and the battle she’s facing as there’s this immense pressure that’s pushing her to be someone that she’s not.

This is a still that happens at the end. Tami has realised that her individuality is what makes her special, it sets her apart from others. The light represents her youth and innocence and she walks into it, reclaiming her identity and therefore her voice.
