Rafa Antonini is an artist and illustrator with an interest in exploring the grotesque and uncomfortable. As a creative, their work is most focused on confronting concepts of form and identity through the symbolism of storytelling and performance. Inspired by the non-naturalistic practices of Artaud’s Theatre of Cruelty and working in digital, traditional and mixed media, they lean into styles that evoke the strange and transgressive. Their most recent work, “GUTS: A Trans Metamorphosis” is an examination of the objectification and transformation within the body, viewed as a journey through realms of dark fantasy, folklore and unconscious thought.
