Veronica Capitanucci
Veronica Capitanucci is a womenswear designer specialising in tailoring and embroidery appliqué. Her designs merge technical skill with emotional depth, resulting in pieces that are both visually striking and meaningful.
Her graduate collection, Painful Passage, reflects on her personal journey through grief after the loss of her mother. Drawing from Italian tailoring traditions and the history of Italian immigrants arriving at Ellis Island, the collection explores themes of identity, memory, and transformation. Embroidery appliqués, inspired by the decorative patterns in Gustav Klimt’s paintings, add texture and meaning to each look. With Painful Passage, she expresses a deeply personal experience while exploring universal themes of loss, heritage, and healing.
